Remma - Update 23/03/10
Hey Everyone,
We're sorry for the lack of updates recently and hope everyone is keeping well and happy. We've been incredibly busy on our end and have a lot of news to fill you in on.
First of all we can officially say we have been offered a record deal from a label in the US. The label is a subdivision of Warner Brothers and we are currently negotiating the potential deal that lies ahead of us. Another label has expressed interest also so we are weighing up the deal and making sure we make the best decision possible for our current state of affairs. We are incredibly excited and overwhelmed with the amount of interest in the album. We will keep everyone informed on the development of things to come.
We are also glad to say that we have signed a contract with the booking agency "Green Room Music Source" from Minneapolis. We have planned out an extensive tour of the United States spanning from July to November of this year. It will see us covering 45 states playing close to 90 shows and we can't say we've been more excited about anything in our entire lives! We also want to thank Becky from "Green Room" for taking all the time she did in helping us get this itinerary sorted and also for the massive amount of work she has ahead of her in booking all the dates. Thanks again Becky!
We also want to welcome Craig Hayes to our family. Craig is a music attorney from Nashville currently helping us with just about everything. He's negotiating our deal as well as answering the endless amounts of questions we have concerning the music industry. He has the patience of a saint when dealing with the four of us.
Noel Hogan has also stated his interest in mixing "Sincerity" for the upcoming album and we're more than happy to let him have fun with it. We know it will turn out to be an incredible mix and we can't wait to hear the finished product! Follow his twitter here http://twitter.com/noelhogan
Darren has been offered a sponsorship from the Arizona based drum company Seven Drum Works. They have offered to make him a custom drum set for the tour and Darren can't stop talking about how he's finally going to have a drum set with his name written on it. Big shout out to Chris from Seven, you can follow them on twitter here http://twitter.com/sevendrumworks
We just want to thank to everyone in the past few years who have helped us out and supported us to make all this happen. Too many names to mention. We are looking forward to the rest of 2010 and know that there is a huge amount of work that ahead of us.
We will see you all soon.
Shane, Colm, Daniel, Darren.

Remma " Sincerity " Video and Recording Process
Remma " Sincerity" taken from the forthcoming debut album.
This track was pretty much recorded in a day. It was an old song we released in 2004 on Attack records and we did not plan on putting it on the album.
I remember chatting to Noel about an idea of doing it acoustic and making it sound really dark. We dropped what we were doing and Noel came up with the beat almost instantly he told me to stay exactly where i was and miked up the guitar exactly where i was sitting. Two mikes infront of the guitar (Taylor Acoustic) and one mike in the very corner of the room (You hear this at the very last part of the song.
The track went down in one take. We wanted it to sound live and not over polished. Noel really captured the moment on this.
Shane then used a Sm58 mike to put down the scratch vocals. We later recorded the finished vocals a few weeks later.
The electric guitar part in the chorus of the song was achieved by playing a Fender Telecaster through a tiny (Battery powered) fender amp which we placed outside the room on full power.
The almost cello like part in the second verse was done by using an e-bow on the acoustic guitar and then double tracking a sample from logic over it.
The sounds you hear at the very end Noel came up with, he hooked up some guitar pedals and ran them through a Neve compresser and then reversed them and added more effects to get an almost haunting reverbed effect which plays over the cellos, this keeps building and building until the very end (We recorded the final cello's with a real cello player)
This track is one of my favourite tracks off the album. It happened very early on in the album recording and it really showed us how valuable Noel was as a producer and engineer. From the initial idea to the finished track i remember not even moving from where i was sitting, Noel was running around hooking up pedals and creating sounds right there and then.
I remember leaving the studio that evening with Shane. Noel put the monitor mix on a cd for us to listen to in the car. We listened to it over and over again for the two hour journey home. Something we will never forget.
Enjoy
